Miniature Dachshund
Breed Origin
The Miniature Dachshund originated in Germany, where the breed was developed to hunt small burrowing animals such as badgers and rabbits. The name “Dachshund” literally means “badger dog” (Dachs = badger, Hund = dog).
Today, this cheerful and intelligent breed is cherished worldwide as a devoted companion and spirited show dog.
